“I feel fortunate that PCNY has consistently partnered with Volunteers of America to give back to the communities in which we operate, and that the company values such community service efforts. Through the Operation Backpack program, PCNY employees were able to work together to sort, unpack and organize donated school supplies to be placed into backpacks for homeless children throughout New York City. Not only was this a team-building experience, but we also were able to donate our time for a much larger cause that impacts families. As a parent myself, it was a great feeling knowing that a child would not have to go without school supplies when they walked into school that upcoming fall. Similarly, PCNY employees have also worked with Volunteers of America to wrap gifts, decorate, serve food and interact with kids for a themed holiday party at one of VOA’s shelters. Knowing that families would have a happier holiday season due to the efforts of our company put a smile on everyone’s face at the event, and I think it is something all the volunteers look forward to doing again in the post-pandemic world.”
